Boulder, Colo. (April 1, 2011)--WARHEADS®, the authentic, edgy sour candy, has signed up to be a leading sponsor of the 2011 USA Ultimate College Championships, the National Governing Body for the sport of Ultimate announced today. Scheduled for May 27-30 in Boulder, Colo., the annual event is the culmination of the college Ultimate season and determines the sport’s national champions.

As part of the sponsorship, WARHEADS will be giving away samples of Extreme Sour Hard Candy and Sour Chewy Cubes all weekend long. A custom-designed Ultimate booth game will allow spectators to win WARHEADS-branded items, such as full-size Ultimate discs, visors, wattle bottles, and bandanas. WARHEADS will be hyping the event through its website, Twitter® page, and 750,000-member Facebook® page.

"We are pleased to have WARHEADS represented at the USA Ultimate Championships", stated WARHEADS Director of Marketing, Andy Telatnik. "Ultimate is the most extreme and edgy team sport around, and this event and the skilled athletes of this sport are a perfect fit for the extreme, edgy nature of the WARHEADS brand."

The 2011 USA Ultimate College Championships will take place in Boulder over Memorial Day Weekend. Throughout the four-day event, 40 Open and Women’s division teams comprised of nearly 900-student athletes from colleges and universities across the country will compete for national titles in the sport of Ultimate. The tournament represents the culmination of a regular season in which 11,000 athletes from more than 700 colleges compete to qualify for a trip to Boulder. Last season, the University of Florida claimed the Open division championship over Carleton College, while the University of Oregon captured the Women’s division title against the University of California – Santa Barbara.

"The College Championships is one of our flagship events and the presence of a dynamic, fun and exciting partner like WARHEADS will enhance the experience of both athletes and spectators alike," said USA Ultimate Director of Marketing and Communications, Andy Lee. "The WARHEADS brand is a natural fit for our sport, especially within our rapidly growing youth and college segments, so we’re thrilled to welcome them as a partner of USA Ultimate."
