Waldrup, Echterhoff Lee To Take On New Staff Positions

Boulder, Colo. (February 28, 2013)—USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of Ultimate in the United States, announced today the hiring of a new team member on the Marketing and Communications staff and the promotion of Julia Echterhoff Lee to Director – Finance & Development.

Stacey Waldrup was named the new Manager - Communications & Publications and will oversee the USA Ultimate quarterly magazine and new editorial content on the USA Ultimate website. She will also assume responsibility for various other publications and communications responsibilities to support the organization.

Waldrup has been involved in competitive Ultimate for nearly a decade and has played on the Club, College, and local league levels in North Carolina. She initially became involved with Ultimate at Appalachian State University, where she earned a degree in English and Professional Writing. She also has experience with Club teams from both the Women’s and Mixed divisions, most recently with the Triangle-area, N.C., Mixed team wHagonweel. Before joining USA Ultimate, Waldrup worked as a Communications Specialist with the North Carolina School Boards Association in Raleigh.

We’re thrilled to have Stacey lead those efforts with some new ideas and enhance our overall communications initiatives," explained Andy Lee, USA Ultimate’s Director of Marketing & Communications.
 
Echterhoff Lee was recently promoted from Manager – Administration & Finance to Director – Finance & Development. Echterhoff Lee joined USA Ultimate in 2011 and has overseen the organization’s financial and administrative efforts since that time. 
 
"Julia has been a very strong teammate in many different ways, and she will be leading a new fundraising/development strategy in addition to her ongoing finance and administration responsibilities. We are excited and fortunate to have her manage and lead these critical areas for us," said USA Ultimate Chief Executive Officer Tom Crawford.
 
Echterhoff Lee holds Master of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees from the University of Georgia and has years of professional experience in various tax, accounting and management positions. Her Ultimate career includes serving as captain and treasurer for Atlanta’s Ozone as well as coaching at the Paideia School.
