USA Ultimate Partners With YouTube On Live Stream Platform
New Partnership with YouTube Brings Live Ultimate to Fans Everywhere
Boulder, Colo. (October 24, 2012)-- USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of Ultimate in the United States, announced today a partnership with YouTube to launch an original live YouTube channel. The new
USA Ultimate YouTube channel provides USA Ultimate with the ability to live stream and archive its championships events in high definition online.
USA Ultimate will launch its
YouTube channel on Thursday with a live stream of the 2012 USA Ultimate Club Championships in Sarasota, Fla., Oct. 25-28.
"We are busy building a broad and diverse platform for broadcasting our sport and our top events worldwide, and this relationship is a key element of that strategy," explained USA Ultimate CEO Dr. Tom Crawford. "YouTube, in many ways, represents the future of sports broadcasting and we’re fired up and fortunate to have them as a partner."
The first Ultimate games broadcast live on YouTube will occur on Thursday, Oct. 25, beginning with the San Francisco Polar Bears vs. Atlanta Bucket (9:30 a.m. ET), followed by Boston Brute Squad vs. Madison Heist (12:15 p.m. ET) and Seattle Sockeye vs. Atlanta Chain Lightning 4:00 p.m. ET). USA Ultimate will also stream three additional games each day, including the championship games in the Open, Women’s, Mixed and Masters divisions.

USA Ultimate will utilize its
YouTube Channel to live stream several of its championships events, archive game footage, publish highlight videos and more. The partnership also allows USA Ultimate to provide these offerings to the community free of charge.
