USA Ultimate Announces ESPN Coverage of 2013 U.S. Open Championships

Boulder, Colo. (June 25, 2013) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, is excited to announce ESPN’s coverage of this year’s U.S. Open Championships.

Kicking off the inaugural Triple Crown Tour, the 2013 U.S. Open will take place July 4-7 in Raleigh, N.C., where 24 teams from around the world will compete for championships in three divisions – men’s, women’s and mixed.

The U.S. Open will feature some of the best match ups the ultimate world has to offer. All 12 teams from the Triple Crown Tour’s Pro Flight, along with several Elite and Select Flight teams, will compete against a field that also includes international teams from North and South America, Europe and Asia. The U.S. Open represents the first leg of the inaugural Triple Crown Tour and gives an early-season look at this year’s top competitors for this fall’s National Championships and possibly the first-ever Triple Crown winner.

Semifinal and final rounds from each of the three divisions will be covered live from Raleigh by ESPN3. ESPN will produce and distribute the live coverage according to their high quality standards, using the expertise that has made them the worldwide leader in sports to provide ultimate fans across the country with live coverage of the year’s first major elite-level ultimate tournament.
