USA ULTIMATE & ULTIWORLD PARTNER TO PROVIDE 10 ADDITIONAL GAMES FROM U.S. OPEN
Unprecedented Amount of Coverage Planned for Inaugural Triple Crown Tour Opener, Four International Matchups Featured.

Boulder, Colo. (June 26, 2013)-- USA Ultimate and Ultiworld announced today plans to provide additional video coverage of the 2013 U.S. Open Ultimate Championships, including streaming of eight preliminary round games and production of two semifinal matchups. The additional programming supplements ESPN’s previously announced live coverage of the opening event on the inaugural Triple Crown Tour.

All totaled, Ultiworld’s coverage brings the total number of games available for viewing to 16, making it the most covered USA Ultimate championship event ever.

The schedule also features at least four international matchups with teams from Colombia, Denmark and Japan taking on the best teams in the United States.   

Ultiworld’s live coverage begins on Thursday, July 4 with an international matchup between MUD (Japan) and Scandal (Washington, D.C.) in the women’s division.  Later that day, the men’s division takes center stage as reigning national champion Doublewide (Austin, Texas) faces off against local favorite Ring of Fire (Raleigh, N.C.). Opening day action concludes with a 1 vs. 2 matchup in the women’s division as defending U.S. Open champions Riot (Seattle, Wash.) square off against seven-time defending national champions Fury (San Francisco, Calif.). 

Friday’s slate of games opens with a men’s division east vs. west showdown as Ironside (Boston, Mass.) takes on Revolver (San Francisco, Calif.). Scandal then returns to the spotlight in a women’s division matchup against Showdown (Austin, Texas), followed by Ring of Fire vs. Euforia (Colombia).

In a special exhibition game highlighting mixed play on Friday night the U.S. National Team will play Team Colombia in their final tune-up before representing the United States later this summer at the World Games. 

Ultiworld’s live coverage concludes on Saturday morning with the seventh and final round of round-robin play as Doublewide takes on Ragnarok (Denmark) in the men’s division.

Ultiworld will also film and make available two semifinal matchups on a tape-delayed basis, including one mixed division and one women’s division matchup.
