Texas kicks off the 2011 HS State Championships

Fourteen teams will convene this weekend in Round Rock, Texas for the first 2011 USA Ultimate High School Championship of the year, the 2011 USA Ultimate Texas HS Championships. The championship will also have a Saturday evening showcase game courtesy of the Univesity of of Texas women’s teams, dinner, and a series of competitions to determine which Texas high school player has the best backhand, forehand, hammer, and more!
The nominations list for All-Region and Coach of the Year has been posted, so use that as a guide for who are the top players and coaches to watch at the event. Awards voting will take place after the event.
They say everything’s bigger in Texas, so expect some big, highly contested, and spirited matches this weekend.
