Boulder, Colo. (March 6, 2014) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the hiring of a new team member in the Finance and Administration department.
Ethan Taylor-Pierce was named the new Manager of Finance & Administration and will work to support the department and achieve the membership recruitment, engagement and retention goals of USA Ultimate. He will be responsible for managing the office administrative duties, overseeing accounts receivable and tracking bills and incoming payments while working to help diversity the organization’s revenue base. He will serve as the central administrative connection for the headquarters office.
"I’m very excited to have Ethan join the Finance & Development department and the USA Ultimate team," commented USA Ultimate Director of Finance & Development Julia Lee. "I’m looking forward to him jumping right in and being able to make an immediate impact on the quality of work provided to members, vendors and the other staff."
Taylor-Pierce is a Maine native. He began playing ultimate in Maine’s fast-growing youth program before joining local men’s club team Red Tide. He graduated from the University of Southern Maine with a degree in general management and a minor in accounting, and has since been working as a staff accountant in Kennebunk, Maine. His accounting and office experience will help him make an immediate impact in his new role taking responsibility for USA Ultimate’s existing administrative programs and procedures. He has also spent time working with the Maine Ultimate board of directors.
"My first experience with ultimate was in middle school. From that moment, I was hooked," said Taylor-Pierce. "I also took an interest in the sports industry around that time. It was my goal to work in sports, but it was my dream to work for USA Ultimate. I'm fortunate to have received a tremendous education from the Sports Management professors at the University of Southern Maine and valuable experience working with the Maine Ultimate board. While I'll certainly miss my Red Tide teammates, I'm ecstatic to finally give back to the sport that has given so much to me."
Taylor-Pierce will join the USA Ultimate headquarters team in Boulder in early March, after relocating from Arundel, Maine.
