Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 14, 2016) - As final details are being confirmed for the dates and locations of this season’s masters division regional tournaments, USA Ultimate has extended its bid window for the Southeast Region due to North Carolina House Bill 2, the discriminatory legislation recently signed into law by Governor Pat McCrory.

Earlier this month, USA Ultimate issued a statement opposing the law.

At the close of the scheduled bid window, USA Ultimate has received two bids to host the Southeast Masters Regional Championships in Charlotte, N.C..

While both bids are outstanding and would likely provide a positive competitive experience for our masters athletes, USA Ultimate’s strong preference is for this tournament to be hosted by another state in the Southeast Region.

As a result, USA Ultimate has extended its bid window for the event to Friday, April 22, as it actively solicits alternative bids through Southeast Region teams, its regional coordinator and national directors.

Dates and locations of the remaining masters division regional championship events will be announced in the coming days.
