The South Eugene Axemen won their first UPA High School Westerns Championship this past weekend defeating The Northwest School of Seattle. The Axemen chopped down the competition this weekend giving up only 23 points in six games.

In the Girl's Division The Northwest School claimed their second title in three years by holding off Cathedral High School of St.Cloud, Minnesota. The two teams met twice over the weekend with Northwest winning by two in pool play and taking the finals victory 13-10.

The Team Spirit Awards were taken home by Lakeside in the Girl's Division and Bellevue High School in the Open Division.

The UPA would like to thank all the players, coaches, chaperones, and parents who made the tournament a great success. A special thank you goes out to the great volunteers from DiscNW and the Seattle Ultimate Community. Wynne Scherf, Sarah Koznek, Frank Nam, Callie Mah, Henry Phan, and Bil Elsinger were all superstars this weekend and deserve a big round of applause.
