Rules Working Group Seeks Community Input

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 4, 2018) – The USA Ultimate Rules Working Group is looking for your input. The group, which recently added a new national rules director and several new members, is reviewing the existing rules of ultimate as an initial step in updating the sport’s rulebook.
The Rules Working Group is tasked with the ongoing assessment of the Official Rules of Ultimate, currently in their 11th edition, as well as updating the existing rules. Updates and revisions will be incorporated into the rules and introduced as the 12th Edition Rules of Ultimate, the first new edition in more than 10 years. After the 12th Edition is released, the group would like to have a regular schedule for updating the rules. To accomplish these two tasks, the Rules Working Group would like to give the community a chance to provide feedback on the current rules by identifying areas that need revision and suggesting changes.
Updates and revisions to the current rules are expected to take the better part of 2018, so any new or revised rules will not affect play for any competition division this year. A final publication date for the 12th Edition Rules is not yet set, but no matter the publication date, players and coaches will have ample time to become familiar with and adjust to any changes before the rules are used in any official USA Ultimate competition.
If you would like to suggest revisions or changes to the rules, please fill out and submit this Google form.
We appreciate your input as we work toward an updated version of the Official Rules of Ultimate.
