REVOLVER, FURY & AMP CLAIM TOP SEEDS AT 2013 USA ULTIMATE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Seedings and Pools Revealed as Inaugural Triple Crown Tour is set to Conclude in Frisco

Boulder, Colo. (October 7, 2013)—USA Ultimate announced today seedings and pool configurations for next week’s USA Ultimate National Championships. Scheduled for Oct. 17-20 in Frisco, Texas, 48 teams will compete for a national title in one of three divisions (men’s, women’s and mixed).

Revolver (San Francisco, Calif.), Fury (San Francisco, Calif.) and AMP (Philadelphia, Pa.) all earned number one seeds in their respective divisions after analysis of regular season rankings and results, head-to-head performance, common opponents and input from all participating teams’ captains.

As the culmination of the inaugural Triple Crown Tour, the National Championships represent the highest level of competitive ultimate in the United States, and in addition to naming a national champion will also determine bids to the 2014 WFDF World Ultimate Club Championships, invitations to the 2014 U.S. Open Ultimate Championships & Convention, promotion and relegation into the 2014 Pro and Elite Flights, and award prize money to tournament winners and overall Triple Crown winners.

Revolver earned the top spot in the men’s division after opening the Triple Crown Tour with a win at the U.S. Open in July, followed by a fifth-place finish at the Pro Flight Finale and overall number-one regular season ranking. Revolver enters the National Championships after sweeping its competition and posting a 6-0 record in the Southwest Regional Championships last month.

In the women’s division, seven-time defending national champion Fury again enters the tournament as the team to beat. Like their men’s Bay Area counterparts, Fury claimed a U.S. Open title and ended the regular season on top of the rankings. After placing third at the Pro Flight Finale, they too recorded a 6-0 record in the Southwest Regional Championships.

As winners of the U.S. Open and overall regular season champions, both Revolver and Fury can win the Triple Crown with victories at the National Championships.

AMP will head to Frisco as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Champions (5-0), winner of the Pro-Elite Challenge and Chesapeake Open and overall regular season champions.
