OREGON, COLORADO END COLLEGE REGULAR SEASON RANKED #1
Rice, Bentley Earn Top Spots in Division III Rankings; Bid Allocations to Nationals Announced

Boulder, Colo. (April 5, 2014)—The University of Oregon (women’s division) and the University of Colorado (men’s division) ended the 2014 USA Ultimate College Regular Season as the top-ranked teams in the country according to final end-of-season rankings released Friday by the national governing body. 

Oregon (23-2) staked its claim as the top women’s team in the nation ahead of Ohio State (26-2), Central Florida (24-4), British Columbia (9-5) and Washington (16-7). 

Colorado rode a 19-2 record to the top of the men’s rankings ahead of fellow top-five finishers North Carolina (24-3), Texas (18-4), Pittsburgh (20-7) and Oregon (22-7).

In the Division III rankings Rice University (women) and Bentley University (men) finished on top.  

Rice (23-2) topped the women’s rankings over Truman State (11-1), Bowdoin (8-2), Wake Forest (13-3), and Haverford (7-1), while Bentley posted a 10-1 record in the men’s division to lead Lehigh (6-3), Worcester Polytech (9-0), Saint Olaf (11-3) and Cedarville (9-1).

In addition to determining the top college ultimate teams in the nation, the final USA Ultimate College Regular Season Rankings also decide the number of bids each geographical region receives to the 2014 USA Ultimate College Championships and the 2014 USA Ultimate Division III College Championships. The bid allocations to this year’s national championships are as follows:

Division I Women (20 bids): Northwest (6), Southwest (3), South Central (3), New England (2), Atlantic Coast (1), Great Lakes (1), Metro East (1), North Central (1), Ohio Valley (1), Southeast (1). 

Division I Men (20 bids): New England (4), Southeast (3), South Central (3), Atlantic Coast (2), Great Lakes (2), North Central (2), Metro East (1), Northwest (1), Ohio Valley (1), Southwest (1). 

Division III Women (16 bids): South Central (3), Atlantic Coast (2), North Central (2), Northeast (2), Ohio Valley (2), Great Lakes (1), Metro East (1), Northwest (1), Southeast (1), Southwest (1). 

Division III Men (16 bids): New England (3), Ohio Valley (3), Atlantic Coast (2), North Central (2), Great Lakes (1), Metro East (1), Northwest (1), Southeast (1), Southwest (1), South Central (1).
