Team Applications Open For 2013 HS Regional Events

Boulder, Colo. — USA Ultimate, the National Governing Body for the Sport of Ultimate in the United States, announced today the dates and locations for the 2013 High School Central, Northeastern, and Southern Regional Championships.

HS Centrals
May 18-19
Mason, OH (Heritage Oak Park)

The event will be hosted by Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association.  Tournament Director Dale Wilker said, "The Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association (CUPA) and it numerous volunteers are thrilled to be hosting the 2013 USA Ultimate Central High School Championships.  CUPA is elated that USA Ultimate has chosen to bring another Championship Event to Cincinnati.  Our goal will be to have a championship event like no other that will give youth ultimate players great memories of their experience this May! We will strive to exceed every ultimate player’s expectation of a well-run championship event. We look forward to seeing everyone in May."

HS Northeasterns
May 11-12
Devens, MA (Rogers Field)

The event will be hosted by Boston Ultimate Disc Alliance.  BUDA President Geoff Doerre wrote, "BUDA is proud to again be hosting the USA Ultimate High School Northeasterns tournament. BUDA's own strong regional high school & juniors club league offerings, combined with local events like the upcoming Ultimate Coach and Players Conference, provide a solid foundation underpinning our ongoing commitment to fostering growth and excellence in youth ultimate, and we look forward to some exciting competition this spring."

HS Southerns
May 11-12
Charlotte, NC (Ramblewood Soccer Complex)

This event will be hosted by Charlotte Area Ultimate Association.  Said President Anthony Grillo, "As Charlotte Ultimate matures, our members are seeking to give back to the community and grow the sport. Our club and masters players have begun volunteering to coach high school and middle school ultimate programs, and the rewards have been exponential. Now, it's time for Charlotte to give its youth an example of the best ultimate has to offer while showcasing one of the best facilities in the South. We are excited to play host to the 2013 Southern High School Championships because it further exemplifies our desire to grow youth ultimate, promote the sport in our region and support USA Ultimate. We are looking forward to the opportunity."

HS Westerns
June 1-2 
Corvallis, Oregon (Crystal Lake Soccer Complex)

This event will be hostred by Corvallis Ultimate.  Said, Tournament Director Andrew Buermeyer, "[we are] a newly formed non-profit dedicated to enhancing regional playing opportunities in the mid-Willamette Valley in Oregon, especially for youth. Our local teams have seen some great growth and Corvallis Ultimate is very excited for the opportunity to bring Westerns back to Oregon."  Andrew added, "We're planning a fantastic event and expecting teams from throughout the region to bring their best. Our volunteer base is pumped up to provide great fields, great food and all the amenities that will make Westerns 2013 one to remember."
