Inaugural USA Ultimate Triple Crown Tour Kicks Off July 4-7 in Raleigh, N.C.

Boulder, Colo. (June 6, 2013) – The first leg of USA Ultimate’s inaugural Triple Crown Tour kicks off in Raleigh, N.C., July 4-7 with the 2013 U.S. Open Ultimate Championships. The tournament is part of a four-day celebration of character, community and competition and features a full slate of some of the world’s top teams and athletes in the sport of ultimate.
With less than a month to go, the final competition field is officially set. Pro Flight teams representing the top-ranked squads in North America in three divisions (men’s, women’s and mixed), will square off against teams from Canada, Colombia, Japan and Denmark, as well as other domestic teams from the Triple Crown Tour’s Elite and Select Flights.

With some of the biggest teams and names from the world of ultimate converging on Raleigh, N.C., come Independence Day, the city will be abuzz with excitement and anticipation. One team in each division will leave with titles from the U.S. Open and keep alive the opportunity to become the first-ever Triple Crown Tour Champions.
