Harvey Edwards Appointed to USA Ultimate Board of Directors

Colorado Springs, Colo. (June 21, 2018) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the appointment of Harvey Edwards to its board of directors. Edwards fills the seat of Janet Judge who resigned her position late last year. Edwards will take over the remainder of Judge’s term which is set to expire December 31, 2019. 

Edwards is a recently retired high school English and humanities teacher of nearly 35 years, who now teaches English and serves as the Teacher-in-Residence full-time at Susquehanna University. He is also the founder and director of the award-winning Tolerance Troupe acting ensemble.

Edwards is a graduate of Bucknell University, where he co-founded the Bucknell Mudsharks ultimate team in 1976. He is also a three-time world champion in the masters division with the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove. 

The USA Ultimate Board of Directors consists of 12 members as well as CEO Tom Crawford who sits on the board as an ex-officio member. The 12 voting members of the board serve three-year terms and are a combination of elected and appointed directors who bring a range of knowledge and professional experience both from the ultimate community and beyond.
