GMMW Championships move to Blaine in 2012

Boulder, Colo. — USA Ultimate, the National Governing Body for the Sport of Ultimate in the United States, announced today the 2012 USA Ultimate Grand Masters and Masters Women's Championships will take place September 1-3 at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN.
The event will be hosted by Surly Brewing. "Surly Grandmasters, Surly Brewing and the Minnesota Ultimate community feel proud and privileged to host the 2012 GMMW National Championships, Labor Day weekend at the world class facility National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota." said event TD James Mott. "We look forward to showing the players who are the building blocks of our great sport a first class tournament at a first class facility. We have plans for all participants to enjoy the Labor Day weekend in the land of 10,000 lakes, the Mall of America and Surly Brewing Co. We can't wait to welcome the old guard to the great ultimate state of Minnesota. See you in the Fall."
The event has expanded from a two day to a three day event over Labor Day weekend. The three-day tournament will be held at the
National Sports Center, site of the Youth Club Championships, 2009 HS Westerns, 2000 Co-ed Nationals, 1996 and 1998 College Championships, and the 1998 WFDF World Championships. "The National Sports Center is looking forward to hosting the 2012 USA Ultimate Grand Masters and Masters Women’s Championships over Labor Day weekend." says the NSC's Stephonie Wentz. "We have enjoyed hosting multiple youth events in years past and are excited to host an adult event. The weather in Minnesota is beautiful in early September we are looking forward to showing everyone our record holding facility as well as what the Twin Cities has to offer beyond the competition. Looking forward to seeing you in Minnesota!"
