First round a breeze for both Junior Worlds team

After only a week of training together, 44 of the best youth Ultimate players in America have embarked on the journey of a lifetime. The 2010 Junior Worlds Championship, hosted by World Flying Disc Federation, has started in Germany.
Today, both the Open and Women’s team had their first two games of the competition. In both games, the United State’s youth dominated, showing the rest of the world that they came to win it.
In the Open division, the team of 23 started their morning by successfully beating Belgium 17-4. In the afternoon, the team took on Australia and continued to rule the scoreboard with a final of 17-4.
The Women’s team got off to a later start. The team of 21 women from around the United States started their run in the competition by going up against Finland. The women were able to hold their own and come away with a 17-5 victory. There second game of the day was an even bigger success, where they easily beat the women from Israel 17-1.
Tomorrow the Open team will go up against Ireland, who lost to Belgium today, and Austria. Austria only played one game today, after competition in the Opening game against Germany. The women will be facing Belgium, who had a rough start today, and Sweden, who won both of their games today.
