Danielle Tran Named New Chair of College Eligibility Committee

Colorado Springs, Colo (June 30, 2020) - USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the appointment of Danielle Tran as the new chairperson for the College Eligibility Committee.

In overseeing the Committee, Tran will communicate USA Ultimate policies and procedures to the Committee and facilitate communication of eligibility issues within the Committee, as well as to and from USA Ultimate Headquarters. She will also work with the Manager of Competition and National Team Programs (College) in fielding and processing eligibility inquiries.

"Having worked as a volunteer in the college division for the past two years as a conference coordinator and regional director, I am excited for this opportunity to continue to contribute to the success of the college division in this new role as chair of the College Eligibility Committee," commented Tran. "I am looking forward to working with the committee to continue to uphold the values of the eligibility rules and create a fair and competitive experience for all college players."

A 2018 graduate of Cal Poly-SLO, Tran served as the D-I Women’s College Coordinator for the South Central Region, for which she earned the honor of being named a Coordinator of the Year for that region in 2019. At the start of the 2020 college regular season, Tran expanded her impact on the college division by serving as the Southwest Women’s Regional Director.

"Dani has been an excellent volunteer dedicated to the college division for the past two years," added Tom Manewitz, USA Ultimate’s Manager of Competition and National Team Programs (College). "We are very excited for Dani to bring her passion for college ultimate and strong analytical abilities to the College Eligibility Committee."

Tran currently lives in Denver where she works as a business analyst for McKinsey & Company.
