USA Ultimate

Colorado Springs, Colo. (Feb. 9, 2018) – North Carolina State University Ultimate – in conjunction with USA Ultimate, North Carolina Ultimate, Triangle Ultimate and Ultiworld – is set to test the match-play format in the college division, beginning later this month. The Atlantic Coast Showcase is a series of weeknight games between the N.C. State men’s and women’s ultimate teams and regional rivals from Duke, North Carolina-Wilmington, Virginia and North Carolina. 

All games are sanctioned by USA Ultimate and are part of the college regular season. The games will be streamed on Facebook Live, with footage provided by the N.C. State JinxCam. A series of youth clinics supporting the events will be held by Triangle Ultimate and the N.C. State teams.

March 16

6:00 p.m.: N.C. State Men v. Virginia Men

USA Ultimate is collaborating with the Atlantic Coast Showcase as a trial of match-play, college showcase events. It is hoped that the combination of university teams, youth outreach clinics and sanctioned match play will be an attractive combination for fans and potential sponsors. In addition to Ultiworld, Discraft, Savage and Universe Point, the Atlantic Coast Showcase is being sponsored by Food Lion, the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance and the marketing department at NC State, among others.
