Colorado Springs, Colo. (Sept. 30, 2015) – The application window is now open for athletes interested in trying out for one of the select national teams that will represent the U.S. at next year’s World Ultimate and Guts Championships (WUGC).

The U.S. will send three select teams to WUGC, one each in the mixed, open and women’s divisions. The 2016 event marks the first time USA Ultimate has sent select teams to WUGC. The teams that will represent the U.S. in the masters divisions that will be contested at WUGC 2016 qualified at the USA Ultimate Masters Championships earlier this summer.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. MT on Friday, October 30.

The USA Ultimate National Teams Application Kit outlines everything interested athletes need to know about the teams and how to apply.

Selected athletes will attend one of two tryout camps early next year – one on either the east coast or the west coast. The national teams’ coaching staffs will be on hand at the tryout camps to evaluate players and select the final team rosters. Head coaches for each of the three U.S. select teams were announced earlier this week.

The 2016 World Ultimate and Guts Championships will be held in London from June 18-26, and will be hosted by the World Flying Disc Federation and UK Ultimate.
