Adjustment Made to D-I Women’s College Championships Bid Allocation

Colorado Springs, Colo. (April 11, 2017) – USA Ultimate has adjusted the final college regular season rankings, resulting in a change to the bid allocation to the 2017 USA Ultimate College Championships in the women’s division.
As a result, the Atlantic Coast Region has been awarded a third bid to nationals, while the Northwest Region drops to two bids.
The update stems from an error in the final regular season rankings used to calculate bid allocations.
Prior to the release of the preliminary end-of-season rankings, USA Ultimate identified a player eligibility issue with California-Santa Barbara. After the issue was resolved, California-Santa Barbara’s results from one tournament – the Stanford Open – were inadvertently not reinstated. Once USA Ultimate learned of this error, California-Santa Barbara’s results from the Stanford Open were recognized, and the rankings recalculated. As a result, Georgetown surpassed Whitman in the final rankings, resulting in a bid to nationals being shifted from the Northwest to the Atlantic Coast.
While the nationals bid allocation is affected, bids to regionals remain unchanged.
