Boulder, Colo. (May 18, 2014) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today that the 2015 Division III College Championships will take place in Rockford, Ill., northwest of Chicago, May 16-17. The event will be held Saturday and Sunday at Sportscore 2 in Rockford and will be hosted by the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The USA Ultimate Division III College Championships will crown a national champion in the men’s and women’s divisions and represents the culmination of the college ultimate season for schools with enrollment of fewer than 7,500 students. Once again, the event will take place the weekend before the Division I College Championships.

"On behalf of the entire Rockford Region, we’re thrilled to be selected as host of the 2015 USA Ultimate D-III College Championships," said Nick Povalitis, Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Sales Manager. "Sportscore 2 is an outstanding facility with a proven track record of accommodating diverse events, including ultimate, in years past. The RACVB, Rockford Park District and many regional partners share a collective goal of hosting a successful and memorable event for all participants and visitors as we continue to build a long-term partnership with USA Ultimate."

More than 800 student-athletes from 32 teams, 16 each in the men’s and women’s divisions, will compete in next year’s Championships. 2015 marks the sixth annual Division III Championships and the first time a USA Ultimate championship event will be held in Rockford.
