2014 Youth Club Championships Dates and Location Announced

Boulder, Colo. (Dec. 4, 2013) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the dates and location of the 2014 Youth Club Championships.
The 2014 Youth Club Championships (YCC) will take place at their perennial home, the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn., on Aug. 9-10, 2014. YCC will again be hosted by Minnesota Youth Ultimate. 2014 will mark the tenth Youth Club Championships event and the tenth consecutive year it will have been held in Blaine.
"Minnesota Youth Ultimate is pleased to host the Youth Club Championships for 2014," explained Bruce Mebust, Chairman of Minnesota Youth Ultimate and YCC tournament director. "This will be the tenth year we have been privileged to host this premier youth event for USA Ultimate, and we appreciate their faith in our ability to deliver a quality tournament. YCC tournaments significantly contribute to the development of youth ultimate in the Twin Cities and Minnesota, and we hope to continue hosting YCC as it grows."
With an increased focus on the growth of youth ultimate from USA Ultimate, local leagues and school-based programs across the country, in turn, participation in the Youth Club Championships has grown each year. The 2013 event hosted 43 teams representing 19 different cities, each number a record for YCC. That growth trend is expected to continue in 2014.
