2014 World Junior Ultimate Championships - Day One

Lecco, Italy (July 21, 2014) - Several delays of play due to inclement weather did not deter the United States National Teams. After one day of play at the 2014 World Junior Ultimate Championships, the two United States teams are a combined 4-0.
The U-19 Women’s team recorded two shutouts on the day. They defeated Israel before facing the Netherlands, the four and five seeds in the pool, respectively. Both games ended with scores of 17-0. Up tomorrow for the U.S. women are match ups with third-seeded France (7:45am local time) and second-seeded Japan (11:45am local time).
The U-19 Open team also started their tournament against Israel before taking on Finland, the three and five seeds in the pool, respectively. The United States defeated Israel 17-9 and Finland 17-2. Tomorrow, the U.S. open team will meet sixth-seeded Spain (7:45am local time) and fourth-seeded Switzerland (1:45pm local time).
