USA Ultimate Announces Location of 2014 High School Southern Championships
Boulder, Colo. (Oct. 1, 2013) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today that Greenville County, S.C. will host the 2014 High School Southern Championships.
After great years in Tennessee and North Carolina, the 2014 Southern Regional Championships will take place at the MeSA Complex in Greenville County, South Carolina on May 10-11. Southerns will be hosted by Greenville Ultimate; Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism (GCPRT); and VisitGreenvilleSC.
"Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism, and our partners at Greenville Ultimate and VisitGreenvilleSC, are confident that the athletes, spectators, and tournament officials will find Greenville to be the perfect setting for this exciting ultimate event," said Jeff Poole, Sports Tourism Manager at Greenville County Parks, Recreation and Tourism. "This tournament will proudly showcase the next generation of players in one of the country's fastest-growing sports. The host venue, MeSA Complex, is spacious, accessible and features some of the best-manicured natural turf in the southeast. Furthermore, Greenville County offers an outstanding climate and natural resources that are complemented by dynamic downtown Greenville, which consistently ranks as one of America’s Top 10 places to visit."
The MeSA Complex is collaboratively owned and operated by the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy and GCPRT and hosts numerous high-level sporting events each year.
