2014 Masters Championships Dates and Location Announced

Boulder, Colo. (Dec. 19, 2013) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the dates and location of the 2014 Masters Championships.
The 2014 Masters Championships will take place at the Sarasota Polo Club in Sarasota, Fla., from July 18-20. The event will be hosted by the Sarasota County Sports Commission. Sixteen teams in each of the men’s masters, women’s masters and grand masters divisions will compete for national titles in 2014.
"We are honored to host the 2014 USA Ultimate Masters Championships here in Sarasota," remarked Tournament Director Tim Naylor. "We welcome the returning players from years past as well as those making their first trip. With our world-renowned fields and beautiful white sand beaches, we plan on making this tournament an adventure the whole family can enjoy."
"USA Ultimate has had a long-standing relationship with Sarasota with their Club Championships being here for 13 years," added Nicole Rissler, Director of Sports for the Sarasota County Sports Commission, a division of VISIT SARASOTA COUNTY. "We are thrilled to have them returning in 2014 with their Masters Championships."
The Sarasota Polo Club was a longtime home of both the USA Ultimate Club National Championships as well as the Masters Championships. Last year’s Masters Championships were held in Denver, Colo. and marked the first time the men’s masters division competed alongside the women’s masters and grand masters divisions. The first Masters Championships were held in 1991 in Sanford, Fla.
