USA Ultimate Announces Location of 2014 High School Central Championships
Boulder, Colo. (Oct. 9, 2013) – USA Ultimate, the national governing body for the sport of ultimate in the United States, announced today the dates and location of the 2014 High School Central Championships.
After great years in Illinois and Ohio, the 2014 Central Regional Championships will take place at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa on May 17-18. Centrals will be hosted by the Central Iowa ultimate community, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau, Iowa Sports Foundation and Iowa State University’s Women Scorned.
"The Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau looks forward to continuing to develop our partnership with the Iowa Sports Foundation by bringing new and unique events, including the USA Ultimate regional championships, to Central Iowa," said Seann DeMaris, sports and leisure sales manager, Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau.
"We are excited to welcome the 2014 USA Ultimate High School Central Regional Championships to Iowa State University," said Kevin Bourke, chief operations officer, Iowa Sports Foundation. "The involvement of the Central Iowa ultimate community is essential to us receiving this bid and in hosting a successful tournament. Hosting the high school championships will help us encourage the growth of the sport of ultimate throughout Iowa, from high school, through college and the club levels."
