2013 High School Regional Championship Teams Announced

100 High School Teams to Compete at the 2013 Regional Championships

Boulder, Colo. (March 28, 2013) – USA Ultimate is pleased to announce the teams invited to participate in the 2013 High School Regional Championships. In the second year of four competing high school regions, champions from the Northeastern, Southern and Central regions all return with eyes on defending their titles.

Northeastern Championships
May 11-12, 2013 – Devens, Mass.

In the historically strong Northeastern region, Amherst Regional has come out on top in both the Girls’ and Boys’ divisions each of the last three years. Both teams will be looking to continue their winning streaks amongst a field of tough challengers.

Southern Championships
May 11-12, 2013 – Charlotte, N.C.

It is anyone’s guess who will come out on top in the fast-growing Southern region. The 2012 Girls’ Division champion was a team formed between H-B Woodlawn and Yorktown. The 2013 Championships promises three additional teams in the division, with split squads from H-B Woodlawn and Yorktown and several other new and quality competitors. Reigning Boys’ Division champions, University School of Nashville, will also face some new teams and tough competition while working to defend their title.

In the Central region, the girls from Holy Family Catholic brought home a win last year, while the Hopkins boys won their division. Both are back this year to try and prove their championships did not come by chance.

Western Championships
June 1-2 – Corvallis, Ore.

The talent-rich Western region is the only region without a returning champion in 2013, but it is filled with heavyweights from the perennially successful DiscNW area as well as numerous teams from across the state of Oregon. Add in teams from California and Colorado, and some memorable matchups are sure to arise.
