2013 College Championships Return to Madison

Boulder, Colo. – USA Utlimate, the National Governing Body for the sport of Ultimate in the United States, announced today the USA Ultimate College Championships will return to Madison, Wis. in 2013, taking place from May 24-27.
 
The event, which annually crowns the Division I men’s and women’s Ultimate (Frisbee) National Champions, will be hosted by Midwest Ultimate, with assistance from the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB).
 
The tournament will be held Friday through Monday at Redden Soccer Complex, with the finals taking place on Monday, May 27. Chris Olig of Madison will serve as Tournament Director on behalf of Midwest Ultimate.
 
"We’re extremely excited to bring the national championships back to a fantastic Ultimate venue and again showcase one of America’s fastest-growing sports to the Greater Madison area," said USA Ultimate Managing Director of Competition & Athlete Programs Will Deaver. "Thanks to the support of Midwest Ultimate, the GMCVB, as well as the rich history of Ultimate in Wisconsin, we expect the 2013 edition to be one of our best editions yet."
 
Following the 2013 college regular season, more than 13,000 student-athletes from more than 750 college and university teams from across America will compete for a chance to qualify for the annual national championships in Madison. On Memorial Day weekend, nearly 900 competitors from 20 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams representing the top collegiate Ultimate talent in North America will make their way to Madison to compete for a national title.

The site for the 2013 D-III College Championships is still to be determined.
