Hello from the U-20 training camp in Winchendon, Mass.

We ended our third day of practices twice a day and are trying to refresh our bodies in between. Our focus for the past three days has been nonstop ultimate. It is taking its toll but we seem to continually raise the bar each practice. The intensity has risen and our compatibility as a team has grown so much in the past few days.

Each day we get up and fight through the barrier that is our exhaustion physically and mentally. Yet we go to scrimmage all of our exhaustion vanishes and is replaced by a drive to better as a team and individual. Our compatibility has grown so much as we are now starting to each others strengths and building around those strengths. On and off the field we are continually growing as a team, doing small activities like watching the olympics, swimming, or frisbee golf. We are growing more and more together. Never losing site of our goals, and always preparing for our final test in Dublin.

Besides the training camp a few of us participated in an out reach program here in Winchendon, Mass. through the YMCA. As a total of six of the Junior players went to try and spread ultimate. While we taught the kids to throw, catch, and basic rules of the game it was uplifting to see how much fun they were having. Just another reminder of how much fun the game really is.

Until next time,

Anthony Gossard
