First instituted in 2002, the Freshmen of the Year awards are a way for individual college players to be honored by their peers for their skill, athleticism, integrity, and leadership during the current college season. As was done for the 2011 All-Region teams, there are separate nomination and voting processes resulting in 1st and 2nd Team FOTY for each region.
Although the nominations period is closed, write-in candidates are allowed as part of the voting process. Voting has been extended until 11:59pm MT Mon May 21st. Results will be compiled and posted prior to the start of the D-I College Championships. Each team is allowed one ballot for voting. If your team organizer didn't receive an email about how to vote, have them contact collegeawards@usaultimate.org.
