Boulder, Colo. (January 6, 2011)—USA Ultimate announced today the dates, locations and host organizing committees for two championship events this season. The 2011 USA Ultimate Youth Club Championships will return to the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minn., Aug. 13-14, while the 2011 USA Ultimate Grand Masters and Masters Women’s Championships will take place at the Lebanon Sports Complex in Lebanon, Ohio, July 9-10.

A two-year agreement will bring the Youth Club Championships to the Twin Cities area through 2012, marking nearly a decade of hosting the nation’s best young Ultimate players in the annual national-level event. The two-day competition will again be co-hosted by the Minnesota High School and Twin Cities Ultimate Leagues.

“We are pleased to be the hosts of the Youth Club Championships for 2011 and 2012,” said spokesman Bruce Mebust. “This will make eight straight years we have been privileged to host this premier USA Ultimate event and we appreciate their faith in our ability to deliver a quality tournament. Youth Club Championship tournaments significantly contribute to the development of youth Ultimate in this area and we always enjoy meeting organizers and players from around the country.”

A month prior to the Youth Club Championships, another enthusiastic Ultimate community will host players at the other end of the age spectrum as the Cincinnati Ultimate Players Association (CUPA) will serve as the organizing committee for the Grand Masters and Masters Women’s Championships.

“CUPA and its numerous volunteers are thrilled to be hosting the 2011 USA Ultimate Grand Masters and Masters Women’s Championships,” said Dale Wilker, spokesman for CUPA. “We’re elated that USA Ultimate has chosen to bring another Championship event to the Sports Complex. Our goal will be to have a championship like no other that will give Ultimate players great memories of their masters experience this July. We’ll strive to exceed every expectation of a well-run championship event and look forward to seeing everyone in July.”

The announcement nearly completes the schedule of 2011 Championship events, leaving only the Division III College Championships yet to be confirmed.
