The Santa Barbara Condors first took the field in 1974. In 1977 they became the first National Champions in the sport. Then they repeated as #1 in 1978 and again in 1981. The Santa Barbara Condors are the longest running club team with the same name and background in the world... and their dedication and quality of play continues to this day. In 2000 and 2001 the Condors were again National Champions.

Out of this richest of ultimate traditions the Beyondors were hatched in time for Masters Nationals in San Antonio in 1993. The first Beyondor team was comprised of mostly ex-Condors with a bunch of ex-Condor foes thrown in for good luck. This team went on to win the National championships that first year. The Beyondors competed at Nationals from 1993-1997. Then, in 2009 the core of ‘00-‘01 National Champion Condors decided to get the band back together. Unfortunately, they ran out of gas in the semi-finals. The 2010 version of the Beyondors forgot to pack some of their best players. After erasing an 11-6 deficit and winning the Southwest Regionals 14-13, the 2011 Beyondors team is poised for another assault on Sarasota.

Boneyard was started in 2005 by current team members Dwayne Purper, Christoph Boshoff, and Roger Lassiter. We also stand on the shoulders of founders Mark Britt and John Boswell who retired only this year and only after turning fifty.  They inspired a culture of hard work and hard running that still drives Boneyard.  We made Nationals in ’06, ’07, ’09,  and ’10.  We won the Spirit of the Game award in ’06 and ’09.  In 2010, we finished in second place for the tournament and dead last in spirit.  We look to improve on both results.

From the Big Sky section-- sleeping giant of the Northwest region-- comes Chalant, Big Sky Social Club. Chalant, adjective, from the French verb chaloir, learn it mes amis, know it… "Passionate concern"; "fired with anger, hope and zeal"; "aroused"; this is Chalant.

The Big Sky has been represented in Sarasota over the years but this is Chalant’s debut at the national championships. Our roster has been bred on mountain ultimate since the late 80’s and early 90’s in places like Ketchum, Boise, Pocatello, Missoula, Bozeman, Jackson, Salt Lake, Hell’s Gate and Coeur d’Alene. For decades we battled against each other on the field, heckled one another mercilessly, and made amends with amounts of beer and whiskey that only those who have played and partied in the legendary Big Sky section can comprehend. Over time on off season lift rides, in dimly lit bars and in the depths of wilderness hunting camps came the idea to unite as one. Old? of course. Fat? Yeah, Lightning fat. And now we are all calmed-up and ready to raise the roof!

The Chesapeake stud was long and lean
The color of the sun and his eyes were green
He had the nerve and he had the blood
And there never was a hoss like the Chesapeake stud  (Johnny Cash rip off)

Those lines were much more accurate back in 1994.  We’re a bit grayer, and more than a bit less lean, but this year’s Chesapeaked team has got lots of nerve.  In its second year of combining the talent from Washington and Philadelphia, Chesapeaked is coming back to Florida hungry to build on their 7th place finish in 2010.  During the 2010 National Championship tournament, the team won three games on universe point and thus they know the difference between winning and losing is often a slim margin determined by blue collar effort and a bit of luck. This year the team sees the return of some savvy veterans, along with several newcomers that only add to our blue collar effort and our nerve.

No Country: it's half a Cormac; a playlist; the drifter's code.  Here, it's a group of friends who thought it'd be fun to hit some tourneys together this summer and fall - and wound up accidentally playing well when it counted, earning a spot on the sacred pony-turf of Sarasota. We're first-rate gentlemen from second-rate ultimate towns: mostly Vermont, with a good Massachusetts delegation and representatives from Connecticut and New York too, plus one or two others whose addresses we still haven't figured out.  Our resumes are long and various (read: we're old), with veterans of teams from A&B to Zebra Mussels - Log and Chuck Wagon, Mephisto and Double Happiness and Uncivil Union, with a Goat and an old DoG or two and a Surly-man thrown in for good measure.  When the disc-day is done, have a beer with us on the beach: we'll be playing Koob, an old Viking game we had the pleasure to play once with the Swedish women's team....

Six years ago Old style rose from the ashes of Old Dirty Badgers, the preceding milwaukee/madison masters team. Old Style, ironically, is a team of only marginal style (and age) but prodigious enthusiasm for diverse headwear and beer. We practice sort of a lot, and shun all big-name pickups in favor smaller-name pickups that have less disc skills and athleticism. Honestly, we’ve found that it’s a poor way to build a team. This will be our second time at Nationals (2008), last time we won 0 games, we are hoping to at least double that this year.

The big play that hopefully results in a huge score.  The skill and team work needed to try. The excitement and exuberance when it works.  That is a huck. Accomplishing that feat on a team level is a Real Huck.

Last year, we made it to the semis and believed we had accomplished a "Royal" feat.  In our sixth year, we continue to have ambitious goals for a Midwest melting pot of players who (again) have had no practices this season.  In an effort to go for it again, we scoured IL, IN, OH and MI for more players who feel no need to live in the same State as the majority of their teammates.  We hope our added talent and depth will allow us to complete an even more majestic Real Huck.

Reckon is a term we use to let you know we understand.  A word used so much it has become culture.  Reckon, ain't, y'all, you will hear 'em all. We hail from the dirty-dirty South: throw it down, A-town, Bama, Knox, Nooga, and Nash.  We have a combination of bad air, big hair, soul music, and wack traffic. A place where neckties, flies, wife beaters and skeeters converge on humid days and sultry nights. We are a proud group of almosts and has-beens, ready to bring our high fives to some sun and surf, with intentions of grandeur, on some beautiful turf.  Bless your heart, y'all better stand back, and stay clear, for we r bout to bring it, a reckoning...you hear? You Reckon?

Surly was formed in 2007 out of the ashes of Gray Expectations. In our first year we lost in the championship game to Dog. Since then we’ve been lucky to play in the finals each year, winning in 2008 and 2010. We were honored to compete at the World Championships in Prague in 2010. This year we hope to break the every-other-year-championship cycle and earn the right to represent the USA at the World Championships in Japan. We dedicate every season to our teammate, Marty F. Bakko, who passed away in 2009 and gives his name and character to the Master’s Division Spirit Award.

Four score and nine years ago Willie Nelson began fornicating on this continent to bring forth a new team, conceived in a Doublewide trailer, and dedicated to the proposition that old men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil tournament, testing whether that team, or any team, so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met from the great Lone Star points of Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston and Alpine. We have come with untamed Tigers from Alabama. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we can achieve, we can consecrate, we can huck above this Florida ground. The brave men, swinging and laying out, who found their identity in Little Rock, have earned it. The world will certainly note, and long remember what we do here. As it is for us the Tejanos to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which we fought thus far and so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here committed to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored victories have increased that cause for which we gave the last full measure of devotion - time from family. That we here highly resolve that these dead open players shall not have died in vain—that this team, under Willie, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that ultimate ballin' of Tejas, by Tejas, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

God (or Ron) said, "let there be a Wheel." The "Wheel" begot the "Big Wheel." The "Big Wheel" begot the "Wheelchair." And here we stand.

With a suggested retail price of $39.99, combining drinkability, dropping drinks in drinks ability, and ridiculousness… the 3-man record is 11.3 seconds. What’s behind the name "Wheelchair"? Come find us at Mr. Big’s on the way home and find out.

Thanks to all the volunteers and everyone involved in USAU who had a hand in putting on the championship series. Special thanks to George Plomarity and the Patagonia crew for their ongoing support of ultimate and its players. Your next wheelchair is on us.

After being thwarted by the slimmest of margins last fall, the 7 Figures Golf & Polo Club makes their Nationals debut in their 2nd season, classier than ever.  The pride of Sokoblovsky Farms - Russia’s famous breeders of Petite Lap Giraffes – 7 Figures celebrates the finer things.  Swimming pools.  Movie stars.  Sport drank.

Feeling quite at home at Sarasota’s Polo Fields, you may find these dapper gents and ladies sipping champagne in the VIP section, or enjoying a smashing game of Guess Whom.  Jolly good.

Fitness.  Focus.  Friendship.  For the club!

Bucket began with one goal in mind: to destroy teams.  Yet we were not looking to beat anyone outside of Atlanta but rather infiltrate and eradicate the current ultimate structure in Atlanta.  It seems to have worked.

After several years of seemingly unconnected transactions and shenanigans with the other Atlanta club teams, we have assembled quite a list of individuals.  Our exploits are legendary.

It all began by secretly crafting Chain into a championship winning team and then quietly snatching up the "retired" players once they began resting on their laurels.  We were also able to ship many players off to Ozone in an elaborate dance of sign-and-trades.  We then signed their washed–up players in a "Moneyball" type scheme.

Our search for players was exhausting.  We left no stone unturned.  We had to go with the bait-and-switch for some of them.  Jay Hammond thinks he is still playing in AFDC’s Summer League.  When offered the chance of a lifetime, Zip said, "I have never been so sure about passing up on an ultimate season in my life."  AJ Tiarsmith’s feelings? "I would rather coach a Women’s team."  Watch for both of them to lead Bucket next year!

CLX has been to nationals in 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2010, placing 2nd twice and T-3rd twice, always losing to the eventual national champion (it appears that if you beat CLX in bracket play, you are as good as gold).  The team represented the U.S. at the 2006 and 2010 World Ultimate Club Championships, finishing 10th in Perth and 1st in Prague.  We’d like to thank those who have helped us achieve what we have so far and have helped prepare us for what is to come.  Without the assistance of Gnarwhal, ISUC, the Ames-area Beast players, and some of the Woman Scorned players, we would not have enough numbers for our practices or teams to scrimmage against during the week.  Special thanks to Gnarwhal for travelling up from Des Moines sometimes twice a week.  Last year’s October 3-on-3 goaltimate practices are a fading nightmare.  Thanks to all of the players from the past that helped lay the foundation for this year’s team.  Thanks to our families, friends, spouses, and significant others that supported us all year and represent the biggest part of our fan base.  Big thanks to Taiwo Misra.

District 5 was founded and attended the USAU Club Championships in 2010.  Although the team practices in New Haven, District 5 pulls players from the Hartford, Springfield and New York City metro areas. Despite a few veteran departures during the offseason, the team comes back to Sarasota looking to improve on last year’s second place finish. Additionally, the team added veteran coach Ted Munter to help push it to the next level. Despite his quirky ways, Ted has added notable value and his contributions are much appreciated. Quack!

Someone once said that four forces act together to cause a disc’s flight: gravity, lift, drag and thrust.  In 2009, a group of athletes banded together to create a team. Some were young, green, and inexperienced, but all were ready to put it all on the line.  Drag'n Thrust is based out of the Twin Cities, composed of Ultimate athletes from around the area.  U of M Duluth, U of M Twin Cities, UW Eau Claire, St. Ben's, St. John’s each have a strong showing in the program.  And we have a player from Knox too.

Now in 2011, that first-year team has developed and matured into the veteran squad you see on the field today.  Returning a strong majority of the talent from 2010, we have added one male model and several big female names from the area to bolster the ranks of Drag’ns looking to improve upon last year's semifinals appearance.  We use our 54 legs and single gargantuan collective consciousness to win.  We live for the battle.

Jacks and Jills was founded in Jacksonville, FL in 2008 by Matthew Cangiolosi and John Reeves. Jacks and Jills made Regionals its inaugural season and placed 11th. In 2009 the team finished 5th. In 2010 Matthew Cangiolosi resigned as captain and Daniel West took his place. At Regionals in Austin Texas, the team placed 11th, plagued with overwhelming injuries. For 2011, the second original captain, John Reeves, stepped down but remained with the team. Joshua ‘Rook’ Shepard and Michael Butler stepped up, along with a new influx of talent, to join Daniel West as captains. The team placed 2nd at South Regionals this year and earned their first trip to Nationals.

The proud citizens of Denver erected a giant blue statue of a devil horse right outside of our airport.  It’s already got a death count of one after it fell on its creator and severed an artery in his leg.  Most people think it’s cursed and those that don’t are idiots.  In "Amityville Horror," starring Ryan Reynolds, the house killed people because of a curse by some demonic force or whatever, ergo the Mesteño at DIA is also cursed.  Granted, we don’t know how the horse came to be under the control of Satan or the plot of that movie (why did the house hate children?), but we are all very scared of both.  Because if science teaches us anything, it is that whatever is not understood should be feared.

You people don’t know anything about us other then we took 2nd in our region, decided to get a demonic idol on our shirts instead of something clever or cute (didn’t a team named Rumpletummykins qualify for nationals as well? They sound adorable), and that the Broncos "think" Tim Tebow, with his intangibles, is going to win football games. It just got brought all back around, you people should be scared of us.

Overhaul is a second-year mixed team based in Michigan. Our roster consists of club and college players from different cities in southeastern Michigan. We’re excited to be able to draw the top local talent and provide a competitive club opportunity for men’s and women’s college players in the area.  Last year, we earned a strength bid by finishing 5th, and we are eager to return to Sarasota to compete in 2011.

The Polar Bears are a mixed team based in the East Bay in California.  We started at Lei Out 2010 and had so much fun that we stuck together for the series.  However, unlike most teams that form that way we made hard work and discipline priorities on our team.  For Polar Bears, the emphasis is placed on the journey.  Everything fell into place and as we took home the gold from Sarasota in our first season.  Most of the team returns for another round, working hard and enjoying the opportunity to play with such a great group of people.

Sabre Corp is a Tallahassee based team that originally formed in 2010 to compete in the Florida Sunshine State Games. In the Fall of 2010 several members of Florida State’s DUF and the Seminole Ladies decided that forming a coed team to compete in the 2011 CLUB Series would be a great way to build both programs. Along with their coaches, and several other veteran players in the Tallahassee Community they began their journey for Nationals. After achieving 2nd at SSG, 2nd at Club Terminus, and 3rd at Glazed Daze they entered the Series with tons of momentum. Leaning on their youth, and athleticism Sabre stormed through Saturday at Sectionals, and eventually achieved 2nd.  Determined to achieve their Nationals goal Sabre made the short trip up to Little Rock, Arkansas where they eventually earned their bid to Sarasota Sunday by winning the 3rd Place Bracket. 8fifty Hella Pretty!!!

Dear readers, if you've ever paid attention to me, now is good time; with evil afoot and no time to spare, Old Salt Porker Truesdale and Catface Meowmers sent word.  "Come to Slow White and become an Ultimate player" the letters read.  23 brave souls answered that call.  And dear readers, imagine a music like a nocturnal, heavenly "Yes!" as they decended upon the castle of Fessenden School.  They knew straightaway that this would be a place where they would hone their skills and surely brandish their discs valiantly   Kabloomers!  Out of nowhere Miles Montgomery-Butler appeared, and he brought Ebae, the riotous massage robot!  Halloween yes! Finally, the moment of truth! The good wheel of fate has stopped for these kiddies on "Yes", yes in-deedy, you will be an ultimate player and you will compete at nationals! They are a rag-tag group of champions, this bunch, and, with Cody the bear, the near-perfect man-child, they know they will dominate the day. After vanquishing their opponents, Zoomacroom, Velazquez, District 5, and others they, in unison, will bellow: "We are beautiful animals!  We are the destroyers of worlds!  We are Slow White!"  And, dear readers, only then will the world be silent.

It all began a decade ago in Louisiana when a runt mutt and her helpless puppy siblings were abandoned in a potato sack near a Baton Rouge highway… as fate would have it, they were discovered by a nearby landowner’s dog.  That smallest pup was adopted by a couple of LSU ultimate players that admired her tremendous energy and rambunctiousness as she bulldozed her bigger and lazier counterparts.  She was christened Terminator (aka Termite) at that night’s Abita keg party at the Ultimate house.  She quickly became a staple of the ultimate sideline, learning to respect the game and beg adorably for sideline snacks as she traversed the UPA college circuit down South.  After a few years, Termite flew to her retirement home in Morristown, NJ where she quickly began to piece together her entourage.  Termite began attending weekly Frisbee games at the Skylands Ultimate League before attending her first tournament of the season: Philly Invite.  After her entourage played the Wildwood Beach Ultimate tournament in her honor, Termite inspired her entourage, consisting of many PADA friends, NJ ultimate players, and LSU alumni, to compete in the club series so they could bring her to Ultimate’s greatest stage.

The wolverine, pronounced /'w?lv?ri?n/, Gulo gulo (Gulo is Latin for "glutton"), also referred to as glutton, carcajou, skunk bear, quickhatch, or possibly gulon, is the largest land-dwelling species of the family Mustelidae (weasels). It is a stocky and muscular carnivore, more closely resembling a small bear than other mustelids. The wolverine has a reputation for ferocity and strength out of proportion to its size, with the documented ability to kill prey many times its size.
The wolverine can be found primarily in remote reaches of the Northern boreal forests and subarctic and alpine tundra of the Northern hemisphere, with the greatest numbers in the U.S. state of Alaska, northern Canada, the Nordic countries of Europe, and throughout western Russia and Siberia. Their populations have experienced a steady decline since the 19th century in the face of trapping, range reduction and habitat fragmentation, such that they are essentially absent in the southern end of their European range. It is, however, estimated that large populations remain in North America and northern Asia.  These Wolverines are primarily from Oregon, though.

After a disappointing 2010 Nationals campaign, Chain Lightning has retooled and is looking to make another deep run in 2011. Losing big personalities in the game like AJ Tiarsmith, Josh Ziperstein, Robert White, and John Hammond has made this team more athletic, more fundamentally sound, and more likeable throughout the ultimate community. In its 29th year of existence, Chain has had another year to gel with its transplants from across the country and has picked up rookies that are ready to contribute. Chain has changed it's look, its mindset, and personnel from year's past, but one thing will stay the same...Chick's dig the long ball.

The Santa Barbara Condors first took the field in 1974. In 1977 they became the first National Champions in the sport. The Santa Barbara Condors are the longest running Club Ultimate team with the same name and background in the world. In 2000 and 2001, the Condors were National Champions and in 2002, the Condors became Club World Champions. Condors last made Club Nationals in 2008, with many players moving in new directions the year after. The players on Condors you see today are mostly new faces, but we still strive for the same hard work and level of excellence established by this elite program many years ago.

Doublewide is an elite frisbee club based in Austin, TX.  We are a balanced team with all players committed to common goals: Play hard, fair, and with respect for our teammates and our opponents. Since its origin in 2001, Doublewide has won the Texas Section every year with one exception, won the South Region four times, and qualified for Nationals nine times. With a semi-finals birth in 2010, Doublewide’s goal is nothing short of a National title in 2011. After winning Colorado Cup, Doublewide saw a lackluster performance at Labor Day, leaving the team hungry for the series. Combing new youth and athleticism to the team along with an experienced core, Doublewide will be a serious threat in Sarasota

Formed in 2002, GOAT is making a fifth trip to US Nats. The team is based out of Toronto, but also draws talent from Ottawa, Winnipeg and Montreal. In 2010, GOAT focused on developing young players and encouraging side projects. This year, the herd is corralled again, fired up for a strong fall run.

The 2011 incarnation is a blend of some crusty old guys hanging on and a quickly emerging core of young players who cut their teeth on GT and Roy in Toronto’s the three-tiered club system.

In 2007 elite Ultimate in Boston drastically changed it's trajectory when DoG and Twisted Metal disbanded and reformed into what would become Ironside. Five years and two silver medals later, Ironside is still fighting for that elusive gold but has well represented the North East.  While previous years have relied solely on strong performances from ex-Twisted and Dog players, the influx of new talent from Bodhi and the New England College Region has now reshaped this team's impressive roster. The latest editions include a boat load of young athletic studs who add ridiculous firepower to the already dangerous offensive and defensive cores. Together, fighting under the same banner, with a larger more deadly roster, and continued coaching from Josh 'Papa J-Mac' McCarthy, Ironside has once again armed its cannons and is on its way towards another successful post season.

Johnny Bravo was founded in 1996 by Dan Ackerstein, Wes Williams and Dan "Jello" Revelle.  (Note- Johnny Bravo was not named after the popular animated television series which first aired in 1997.)  The team was founded on vengeance by castoffs from the top Boulder-area team, Secret Squirrel.  Johnny Bravo quickly overtook their rivals and began their reign as the top elite team in Colorado, qualifying for Nationals in 1997.  Bravo split into two teams (Bravo and Gun Club) in 1998 and failed to qualify for Nationals after falling to the Santa Barbara Condors in the final and Los Guapos from San Diego in the backdoor game.  Bravo and Gun Club reunited in 1999 and took the name of the old Boulder team, Secret Squirrel.  After a disappointing 15th place finish at nationals in 1999, the team reclaimed their Johnny Bravo identity in 2000.   Bravo has qualified for Nationals every year since 2000, a feat matched by Seattle Sockeye and surpassed only by Raleigh’s Ring of Fire (1997).  Bravo broke into the quarterfinals in 2001 and has remained a top tier team ever since.  In the past few years, Bravo made three semifinals appearances and a finals appearance in 2007.

This year, Machine said farewell to its last original members from the 2001 team, and will feature 25 players hungry to make their mark on this year's tournament.

Over the years, open club ultimate in Madison has taken many forms. In the early 2000s, as G-Unit, Madison was a consistent fixture at club nationals. From 2004 – 2008, Madison Club was primarily a team of college kids getting ready for the spring college season. The recent resurgence of the team, with three consecutive nationals’ appearances, is largely attributable to people sticking around Madison for their ultimate fix rather than commuting to Minneapolis to play ultimate on weekends.  The team, as always, is made up of many of the top college players in the region with the occasional veteran sprinkled in for good measure.  2011 has been a season of firsts for Madison Club.  The team has gone corporate, and is now officially sponsored by former teammate Paddy Guarasci.  Club players coordinated and ran two ultimate skills clinics in Madison with the goal of increasing the level of play and transfer of ultimate knowledge within the Madison ultimate community.  Club also had its first hurricane shortened regular season, but fully expects to be in peak form when we step onto the fields in Sarasota.

Revolver was established in the spring of 2006 when Nick Handler, Chris McManus, and Marc Weinberger came together to build a new Bay Area ultimate program from scratch. The captains sought to install a team-first mentality, to build strong team chemistry, and to use the values of intensity, humility, and discipline to define the team ethic. Since then Revolver has continued striving to demonstrate these values.

In its inaugural season the team jumped on the National stage by qualifying 3rd for Sarasota out of the cutthroat Northwest, and capped its debut year by claiming a 5th-place finish at Nationals. In 2009, Revolver followed its best ever regular season with a 2nd-place finish at Nationals, and finally in 2010 reached the peak of the sport, winning a double championship with gold at WUCC in Prague and a USA Ultimate title in Florida.

Building on the team’s history and ethics, following the leadership of Farricker Award winning captains Rob Cahill and Bart Watson, and now bringing the confidence of being defending WUCC and National champions, Revolver has their sights set on the 2011 USA Ultimate championship and a rare berth at WUGC Worlds next year in Japan.

Although some of the names have changed, the flames keep rising for Raleigh's Ring of Fire. Now in its 22nd year, one of Ultimate's longest running programs returns to USA Club Championships with a revamped roster, honed offensive scheme and collection of young talent from the best college programs in North Carolina and Virginia. One thing that has not changed is their commitment to blue-collar, gritty defense and swagger that has defined Ring of Fire for over two decades. Ring Nation is always recruiting new fans, so come join us as we pay homage to the values of The Man in Black. Love, Is A Burning Thing.....

2011 marks the second consecutive trip to the USAU Club Championships for Philadelphia based Southpaw.  The team finished tied for 7th in its inaugural season in 2010.  Southpaw began as an effort to combine the best male ultimate talent from the mixed, masters, open, and college divisions.  Its formation continues the long tradition of ultimate in the city, best exemplified by the Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) which promotes the continual growth of the sport and the Spirit of the Game.  Southpaw takes its name from the fictional yet universally motivating figure of Rocky Balboa.  It is his determination, mental grit, and underdog spirit that defines the character and core values of the team.  Simply stated, 'Nobody wants to fight a southpaw.' That’s a shot!!!!!

As a twelve-time Nationals qualifier, tradition runs deep with Sub Zero despite what appears to be its youngest roster in years. 2011 saw the further addition of top local college talent as well as the return of former frosty players to help complete Sub Zero’s return to the top of the Central Region. The Minneapolis-based club team has created success by focusing on a season long bigger picture goal of building a team before individual mentality and plans on rolling a massive cold front through the unsuspecting Sunshine State.

Truck Stop, mainly from the Baltimore-DC-Virginia area, is embarking on its 6th consecutive trip to Sarasota with expectations as high as ever.  This season the Truck has reloaded and emerged from the winter garage with some new parts.  The 2011 model of the Truck boasts a more balanced alignment, greater efficiency, towing capacity and increased horse power.  Special parts have been ordered from Pittsburgh and Australia.  The Truck has rolled into the finals of Colorado Cup and semi-finals of the Emerald City Classic before hitting some rough patches of road.   We've made some adjustments to the design; kinks have been worked out of the system.  All season long the Truck has been making its way up the ramp, now it descends on Sarasota with 27,000 pounds of runaway force.

Bent is an elite women’s team centered in New York City. Formed in 2009, Bent has had a successful start, placing 10th at Nationals in 2010 and returning this year to Sarasota, representing New York with pride. Despite flux in the team roster, we maintained the focus, energy, and determination required to compete with the best in the country. Our goal is to move ever upward while having fun both on and off the field. This year, a core of savvy returners welcomed a whole crew of talented, young players into the women’s ultimate community and saw them come into their own at Northeast Regionals.

Formed in 2002 when a group of college-aged pioneers wanted to play club Ultimate AND have fun at the same time, Brute Squad has worked our way to the top of the Boston Ultimate scene. Along the way, we've turned blood-thirsty, intra-city college and club rivals into beloved friends -- and more often than not, roommates. With half our team finding their on-the-field inspiration from dancing kitty cats and the other half from killing puppies, we somehow manage to balance a crisp, composed offense with a tenacious and suffocating defense. This year marks our 9th trip to the Club Championships, nine amazing seasons in which we’ve made the quarterfinals twice, the semifinals three times, and the finals once. We are the Brute Squad. Anybody want a peanut?

In its short six-year history, Capitals Ultimate has made a name for itself on the UPA scene. In 2005, top-players from the Ottawa and Toronto competitive clubs joined to make a run at the series. After three days of competition in Sarasota, the Capitals shocked the crowds with a jump from 16th to 6th place. In its second and third seasons the team recorded two more top 8 finishes (7th/5th). With 2008 being a world clubs year, Capitals lost a few key players to Team Canada and had a new core of players getting their feet wet for the first time in Sarasota.  The result was a 9th place finish in 2008. In 2009, the Capitals placed higher than ever before, losing their semi-final game by one point, and placing third. In 2010, the Capitals took the next step and made it to the finals, where they lost a hard-fought game to reigning champions Fury. This year, with most players having competed together in the Canadian championship, the Capitals are a unified team aiming to impress on the polo fields of Sarasota.

In west Nashville, born and raised,
On a field is where deSoto spent most their days,
Huckin’ out flicks and skyin’ all fools and sending other teams to the B pool.

After that first year, we were bound to be good, and started makin’ trouble in our "regionhood."
We had one game to go, and we weren’t scared, our deNoise and deFunk and deLove got us there.

We thought about the things that got us all here, dance offs, lil’ chubs and Spanish cheers.
Anyone could tell that this team was rare,
With believing in "YES" and our psych buddy pairs.

We pulled out from a seeding of 7 or 8, and yelled to Little Rock, "Yo ho! Catch ya later!"
Booked our flights to Flor’da, now we’re finally there,
The first Tennessee women to raise nerf swords in the air.

Founded in 2010, Further is proudly named for the infamous colorful bus that Eugene local Ken Kesey and his band of Merry Pranksters drove cross-country during the 1960s. Further's unique approach to the game and community involvement has allowed them to build something much larger than a roster.  While based in Eugene, Further also draws talent from Medford, Newport, Corvallis, Christmas Valley, and Arcata, California. In their second year, Further has been making a tie-dye splash on the Women's Club Ultimate scene with appearances at ECC and the Labor Day Championships. Combining a laid-back hippie attitude with competitive fire is Further's specialty and they are proud to represent Eugene, Oregon's re-emergence at the national club level. While several members of Further's roster have played at the college championships, it will be the very first club championships for every single Further player.

      • Tiny successfully driving through Oregon without getting a speeding ticket on our way to Solstice
      • Winning Trophia and see-through shorts at Colorado Cup
      • Pop Tarts in the parking lot at the creek
      • Performing Ton da la eyon in the parking lot of the Best Western
      • Celebrating the year of the rabbit at Labor Day
      • Reacting to mistakes like Japanese ultimate stars
      • Schlag or not Schlag?
      • Figuring out everyone’s special pump up song at Regionals

We stay in the moment and celebrate our team in those moments. We set no expectations on how things should happen and are excited for the opportunity to create more moments with each other. Fury oh-eleven: No Boxes, No Walls, No Ceiling.

Late one night in 1912, in the cold waters of the Atlantic, the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown turned Lifeboat 6 around to search for survivors of the sinking Titanic. Even though being a passenger on this maiden voyage thrust her into the limelight, Molly was a pretty big deal in her own right. She strongly advocated for women's suffrage, rights of workers, and wounded veterans - the list goes on and on. Bottom line is, her activism and philanthropic efforts made the world a better place. Molly’s motto: No person left behind.

This same fighting spirit is the heart of what MBT is all about. We build each other up and give love where it is due. Qualifying for the 2011 Club Championships is just the tip of the iceberg for Molly Brown. Although we may seem new to these unchartered waters we have the tools and personnel to steer us all the way to the Championship game. Coach Catt Wilson commands the ship at the helm while the MBT crew grinds it out in the galley. We have been training for this moment all year and you can bet there is no stopping us now. Full. Steam. Ahead!

From the dawn of time we came, moving silently down through the centuries. Living many secret lives, struggling to reach the time of the Gathering, when the few who remain will battle to the last. Training on the moors of Chicago. Hucking on the highlands by day and strength conditioning in the dark of night (when the power goes out at the gym). No one has ever known we were among you.....until now.

As our coach once told us (at the beginning of the season), "When only a few of us are left, we will feel an irresistible pull towards a faraway land, to fight for the Prize. Also, keep your head."

With this in mind and blade in hand Nemesis journeys to the Sarasota seascape. We are vigilant. We are relentless (like playing tennis against a wall: you can't win). Nemesis finished 7th at nationals last year, but make no mistake...

      There can be only one.

Ozone is the Southeast’s premiere women’s ultimate team.  Founded in 1984, we have qualified for Nationals continuously since 1987 – 25 years straight – appearing in finals twice and semis 9 times.  The championship trophy continues to tease the Atlanta women, however, so this season we’ll be doing everything we can to bring it home.  From a roster of 14 in 2010, Ozone doubled the ranks this year to round out our already formidable team.  The economy may be down but the cost of living in Atlanta is great, so bribing standouts Liz Duffy (#37), Sarah Blyth (#13), and Lauren Childs (#29) to move to town was easy.  In addition we managed to coax the best coed women in Atlanta to return to women’s and welcomed some long-lost Ozoners back into the fold.  It’s safe to say that 2011 is the best recruiting class anyone’s ever seen this side of the Mississippi; our rookies are the stuff legends are made of.  We dig the long ball, egging out, and Coca-cola – and we do it all without sacrificing our good looks and impeccable Southern charm.  Who says the South won’t rise again?

The Phoenix is a vibrant, mythical bird that will typically live 500 to 1000 years and then build a nest.  The Phoenix will ignite the nest and burn fiercely until out of the embers and ashes a young Phoenix is reborn anew.  This new Phoenix is destined to live as long as its old self.

A new Phoenix has been reborn in NC women’s ultimate.  This new Phoenix recognizes that a tradition of winning has been built by the sweat of previous generations.  We respect and thank the women who have gone before us.  It is with our deepest gratitude that we go forward, hoping that we may ignite a history of excellence as long as the previous.

Phoenix is a program dedicated to opportunity for play for women.  Therefore, Ember was born. The Phoenix program seven core values we live by are:

      1. We play for the love of the game.
      2. We play for our teammates.
      3. We are relentlessly positive
      4. We are coachable.
      5. We believe in Spirit of the Game.
      6. We believe that success and failure are not synonymous with winning and losing.
      7. We believe that if you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.

In 2010, a new team formed full of talented athletes that loved the sport and wanted to compete on a women’s team at a high level.  After weeks of dilemma and hundreds of emails, the team decided to call themselves RevoLOUtion to represent their quest to create a movement; driven to put a new face to Central Region women's ultimate. In their inaugural year, they qualified to play as one of the top 16 teams in the nation. This team lacked a big name, a rich history, high level competition, and any sort of hype. However, what they did have was passion. They came into Nationals as the "clear 16th seed" but one win was good enough to break seed and get noticed.  This year, the movement and that passion is the same even with new players.  RevoLOUtion will always strive to maintain passion for the game, for spirit, for respectful competition, and for each other. We have yet to reach our peak potential as a team and are excited to push through and create more upsets this year.

2011 marks Riot’s eleventh consecutive appearance at the Club Championships, representing Seattle and the Northwest region with pride. The past two years have seen Riot bow out in the semi-finals in Sarasota, and this year the team is determined to regain the top spot on the podium.  Our deep roster includes a veteran from the last Riot championship team in 2005, numerous players with national or world titles to their names, and a tremendously talented rookie class.  We have benefitted from the incredible youth scene in Seattle and the team prioritizes giving back to the ultimate community through coaching, youth scholarships, and clinics.  Traveling to as many tournaments as possible this season, we have amassed a 42-6 record during the year—only posting losses to our NW rivals Fury and Traffic while beating all the other top seeds at the Club Championships.  Channeling the mayhem of our namesake, the 1999 WTO riots in Seattle, we intend to wreak havoc on our opponents with stifling defense and an aggressive offensive attack.  Playing with fire and heart, we are ready to battle for the title.

Safari is an elite women's team based out of San Diego in its 25th year of existence. The goal every Safarian strives for is to continue the team's reputable history through hard work and determination. We not only play for the win, but for the love of the game and, most importantly, each other.

Since its inception in 2007, Scandal has been heating up faster than the debates on Capitol Hill. Younger, faster, and hotter than ever, this year’s DC Scandal is showing up to Sarasota to make headlines after taking the Mid-Atlantic Region.  We're hungry after last year's Nationals performance, and everyone else is looking pretty Scandelicious.  Though hailing from DC, our O- and D-lines are in bipartisan agreement about raising the ceiling on our level of play! No limit! Scandal, you know!

Showdown started in 2006 as a union of Houston and Austin based teams.  Since then we have picked up the top women players from all corners of the state from Dallas to El Paso to San Antonio.  We qualified for 5 of the last 6 National Club Championships and finished 6th place in 2008 and 5th place in 2009.  Our team is young and athletic and we've put in the extra miles to make sure we are prepared to take on the best teams in the nation for a fun and full on showdown.

Traffic formed in 2007, represented Canada at worlds in 2008, and has competed in the USA Ultimate Club Championships every year since 2008.  Traffic finished 5th at last year’s tournament securing an extra bid for the loaded Northwest Region. They took the second seed out of region to qualify this year. The team is led by three player captains (Kira Frew, Amy Hodgins and Betsy Chan) as well as former Furious George great Jeff Cruickshank.

This year Traffic has some new faces from the college scene and outside Vancouver. Hot new players to look out for are Rachel ‘6 inch’ Moens and Mira ‘the beast’ Donaldson.  Seasoned veterans to watch out for are power house Candice Chan, the silent-but-deadly Lindsay Nettlefold and the 2010 Ultimate Canada athlete of the year, Kira Frew. This team is athletic, gritty and ready to take on anyone.
