USA Ultimate

Each year, one of four USA Ultimate Board seats that is vacated by departing members is filled via an appointment process adopted in 2009 (the other three are elected through the general election). In addition to this regularly-appointed seat, in 2011 we have an additional Board seat that must be filled via appointment, since our Mid-Atlantic representative Ben Banyas has chosen to resign his seat due to personal reasons. Therefore, we are in the  position of appointing two new Board members through a process that will take place between now and late December. One of the appointed Board members must live in our Mid-Atlantic, while the other may live anywhere.

We are excited to ask you, the members, for nominations for these two positions - which will play a key role in governing our sport now while also helping determine the future direction of USAU and Ultimate in the United States.

We are asking for all nominations for both positions on the USA Ultimate Board of Directors to be submitted by Nov. 18 to nom_comm@usaultimate.org.

We are looking for candidates who have been involved with Ultimate, as well as those who may be unfamiliar with the sport. Candidates that fill the following representation gaps will receive additional consideration:

• Womens division
• Parents of youth players
• Management/finance expertise
• Experience in organizing and leading local leagues

Your nomination should include the following information:

• Name
• Contact Information
• Why do you think the candidate would make a good Board member?
• Have you made the candidate aware of their consideration?
• Candidate level of interest (High, Probably, Unsure, Unknown)
• Why they want to serve on the Board of Directors (if available)
• Candidate characteristics that are important to their potential role on the Board (UPA member representation, functional skills, anecdotes of other relevant experience)
