Regional Talent ID Camps

USA Ultimate State-Based Organizations are hosting National Team Talent ID Camps in 2020: Colorado Ultimate.

These camps replaced the YCC Talent ID Camp, making it easier for kids to participate. Each event will be run by U.S. National Team coaches who will use what they see at the camps to help with the tryout selection process for the 2022 World Junior Ultimate Championships.

USA Ultimate National Team coaches will run the camp. The coaches will design the camp to give attendees insight and experience in the skills, tactics and games utilized at U-20 National Team tryouts.

Camp Goals

  1. Improve the depth of the National Team program player pool
  2. Increase the accessibility of the National Team program
  3. Increase the impact on the community, players and coaches.

Who should attend?

  • Players looking to take their skills to the next level whether that means making the YCC team or preparing for a future National Team Camp try out.

In the words of 2020 WJUC Women’s National Team player Emily Pozzy who has attended the Talent ID Camps for a number of years, "At tryouts, a lot of the drills were similar to the ones at the ID camp, so I could focus on showcasing my skills instead of trying to figure out how to run the drill. I definitely would go to the camp even if I wasn’t interested. It’s so much fun to meet people and wasn’t that far away. When I went to my first camp in Minnesota in 2015, I never thought I would be playing for Team USA, it just looked like a fun thing to do."
