The 1979 UPA Club Championships took place in State College, PA.

This was the first championship event after the formation of the UPA, as teams from 5 regions competed for the first UPA title.

Before 1979, the IFA sponsored the National Championships.  The previous winners were the Condors (1977-1978) and Rutgers (1975-1976).
