The central image represents the 50th anniversary of the sport of ultimate. Ultimate was developed in 1968 in Maplewood, New Jersey and in the last 50 years has grown into a sport enjoyed world wide.

The central image represents the first U.S Open Club Championships which combined the U.S. Open with the Youth Club Championships, two of USA Ultimate's biggest and most visible events, to feature the best adult athletes competing alongside the best youth athletes. The YCC division featured 90 teams, and the ICC division hosted 36 teams.
